ABOUT US

A family enterprise!

We are a family business made up of two sisters, a daughter and a son.

Rebecca set up Cotswold Pilates in 2005 after a career as a psychologist working at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where she specialised in helping people manage Chronic pain.  "I had found Pilates tremendously helpful to my own episodes of back pain, and exercise has been demonstrated time and again to help our mental health as well as being vital to physical health.   These were key reasons for my decision to train as a Pilates instructor." Rebecca's background in Health psychology gives her an unique understanding of the psychosocial benefits and barriers to exercising and how to help motivate clients to maintain their regular exercise routines. Whether you are pain free or struggling with the many impacts pain, or medical conditions have on our lives, she will work with you to help your body to work better and to feel better. Rebecca was first introduced to Pilates almost 20 years ago while living in New York, the home of Joseph Pilates himself, since Training with Body Control in 2004, she has taught both in the Cotswold and abroad while living in Jeddah and Riyadh In addition to being an advanced Body Control Pilates certified instructor, She is also a level 4 Low back pain specialist pilates instructor and specialist trainer in Osteoporosis and Pilates for the older person and has training in Hypermobility.
